Home care questions
- Does this satisfy the 21st Century Cures Act EVV requirement?
- Every visit captures the six required data elements — type of service, individual receiving service, date, location, individual providing service, and start/end time — with GPS verification at both punches. Records export in aggregator-friendly layouts for Sandata, HHAeXchange and Tellus for state submission.
- What happens when a caregiver has no cell signal?
- The app queues the punch and any charting locally with an idempotency key and syncs automatically when the device reconnects. The original timestamp and location are preserved.
- Can a caregiver clock in early or work past the scheduled end?
- Yes. The clock-in window is wide for early arrivals, and clock-out is always manual — the visit never auto-closes when tasks finish or the scheduled time passes. Overages are recorded and visible to supervisors.
- What if the GPS is off because of a bad address or building?
- The punch still records. It's flagged out-of-geofence, the caregiver must select a reason code, and it lands in the exceptions queue for supervisor review.
- Do we still need a separate HR and payroll system?
- No separate time system. Caregivers, credentials, PTO, attendance and payroll exports all run on the same employee record that Home Care uses, so visit hours become payable hours automatically.
